Referees Speech
“I want a good clean bout, don’t turn your back and defend yourselves at all times, break cleanly when I call break and good luck to both of you”. Touch Gloves and  step back.

Items to check for the Referee to oversee as Chief Official:

1. Ring,    2. Seating & Crowd Safety    3. Judges & Officials     4.  Matching up.   Check competitors clothing and safety equipment on their entry into the ring.
Competitors must show to be defending themselves at all times.   • If you feel a competitor is in danger of being hurt due to lack of defence you may stop the bout at anytime.
A stunned competitor receives a standing 8 count, on 9 if competitor is down or still not ready to compete the bout is finished.
A competitor may only receive 2 stunned standing counts, on the third one you end the bout.
The end of round bell will end a standing count and the competitor may return to their corner however the judges may still deduct 1 point.
In the Schoolchildren bouts an extra vigilance is expected of the Referee and the bout stopped if a competitor looks to be getting hurt or in danger of being hurt and not defending themselves.
All competitors should be fit for the bout, the referee will stop the bout if it is felt a competitor is not fit enough to carry on.
