FORWARD
Since starting my martial arts training in 1982 at the age of 11 years old I have gained a lot of knowledge from my Instructor and husband Dicker and various other athletes, some from the martial arts world and others from other fields.

Over these 21 years I feel that I have learned many things that if put down on paper could be a lot of use to others. We all need some guidance in our training from time to time and now I would like to share some of what I have learned from others and from my own training.  This manual is for all martial artists, for those who compete and those who don’t, for the beginner just starting out to the experienced fighter.

Over the years I have fought Semi, Light and Full contact and competed in the forms category throughout the U.K and abroad.  I believe I have fought many of the world’s best along the way and now I would like to pass on some of my experience to those wishing to learn.  Gaining knowledge can never be a bad thing!

I wish you luck in your martial arts and remember you get out whatever you put in, I am now trying to put something back in to those wanting to gain more knowledge.

Train hard and you will succeed!

I would like to dedicate this manual to my sons Ricky Lee, Jamie, Bobby, Thomas & Richard who I hope will carry on to improve our family system of Hop Kuin Do.
