BOSS is a professionally run series of Martial Arts Tournaments open to every club in each of the above countries to test their martial skills against other styles.
Category winner at each event will be awarded points that are accumulated through the year, the winner is the one with the highest points at the end of the series. 
Country Champions will be determined by who has the most points in each category at the end of the year, winners will be awarded a special certificate.
The winner of any BOSS event are entitled to join the British Squad and compete at the next WUMA World Championships in 2008
The winner of any BOSS event in every category are entitled to come back at the end of the year & compete in the British Championships in December 
The British Championships is an event for all 2008 winners to compete against each other for a 6 ft trophy.  "BE THERE IF YOU DARE"

1pt for all controlled hand techniques.

1pt for a back of leg sweep (ankle to ankle - calf to calf or thigh to thigh)

Anyone Injuring their opponent in Semi or Light-Contact should expect heavy penalties from the Referee
Novice Categories:  
No Jumping, Spinning or Sweeping Techniques

1pt     for a kick to body (Front & Side of the trunk).
2pts   for controlled jump kicks to body.
2pts   for controlled kick to the padding of the Headguard.
3pts   for controlled jump kick to the padding of the Headguard.

  illegal targets:   The face, Below the belt, the back, the throat. Headguard - Mouthguard - Boots - Shinguard - Groinguard ( Boys & Men)  Chestguard (Girls & Women)
Light Contact 
Continuous:
Boxing Gloves: 
-10yrs = Minimum 6oz   10yrs up and Ladies = 8oz minimum    All men must wear 10 or 12oz.
Semi Contact Points: 

Semi-Contact Gloves (Covering fingers & wrist)
  Legal Sweeps: Back of ankle to back of ankle, calf to calf, back of thigh to back of thigh
  Legal Targets: 
Front & side of the trunk of the body. 
Controlled techniques to any part of the Headguard.
 

MINUS POINTS OR DISQUALIFICATIONS in Semi & Light-Contact

For Arguing, Fouls, Excessive Contact, Drawing Blood, Entering Wrong Section or any Type of Insubordination.  
This will be at the Referees Discretion and can be awarded without warnings especially if a competitor is in danger.

CATEGORY CHANGE

Weight categories cannot transfer their points,
Change of height, Age or time training must transfer their points onto their new category however if they already have points in the above category they may then keep the higher amount but not add them together.

All contestants not members within the WUMA are expected to be insured with their own club & Association.

Novice: Under 12 months total training (From 1st lesson until the present day.  All put together i.e.  if you had 2 months off don't count those 2 months within the 12 months.  If one has joined a new club then you add both clubs training together.
Intermediate:
Under 2 years total training, same rules as above!.
Advanced: Over 2 years training.  Training in all past styles to be included.
Adults: 16 years of age and older
Semi-Contact: Semi-Contact = (Points - Stop Start)
Light-Contact: Light-Contact (Continuous Sparring)
Strike & Grapple Stand, Strike then Grapple (Light-Contact Continuous)

2pt  for a recognised choke
Win  if your opponent taps out of a recognised technique being applied.
No locks while standing - No strikes while on the floor

  The face, Below the belt, back, throat.
Legal Takedowns: Light-Contact sweep - Judo & Ju Jitsu throws.
