About the actual grading
WUMA Blackbelt Gradings are reputed to be the hardest in the world,
I wouldn't want it any other way and I am sure you would also like to keep to this kind of standard also.   Although it is hard the weekend is set out in a way that everyone of all types of life can complete the grading.
We get small children, sometimes deaf or people with handicaps in some form or other and we do take these into consideration.
As long as the applicant is prepared to work for their Dan grade harder than they have ever worked in their lives then we see no problem why anyone couldn't pass.   If one fails then we do not charge for the re-take.

Cost:

1st Dan = £69         2nd Dan = £89        3rd Dan = £99

If one fails then we do not charge for the re-take.

Paddy Doyle is reputed to be the world's fittest man, in his new book called "Iron Man Paddy Doyle" he say's that taking a WUMA Dan is the hardest grading in the world, he has multiple Dan grades from around the world, I find it a pleasure to hear this from such a person as Paddy Doyle

The Syllabus
Each applicant may use their own style and syllabus, the WUMA Grading panel is made up of around 10 Senior Instructors from Kung Fu - Karate - Kickboxing - Taekwondo - Hop Kuin Do etc.  All hold at least a 5th Dan or higher and are Masters in their own field of the arts.
Instructors are invited from around the world, in the past couple of years we have had sat on our panel as visitors:
Master Bernard T. Elorta 10th Dan Taekwondo
Master Shi Xing Du a 32nd Generation Shaolin Monk, head Kung Fu teacher from the Shaolin Temple in Honam Province, China
Soke Brian Dossett 10th Dan, head of Spirit Combat
Master Steve Faulkner 7th Degree Lau-Gar
Master John Harper 7th Degree Lau-Gar and many more.

The Syllabus
Although each applicant is allowed to be graded to their own syllabus there will also be a three hour test at HQ, with each member of the panel putting the applicants through their paces with any said technique.
No applicant will be asked to perform any technique they do not know.
At all times of the grading the Martial Arts standard will be as it should be.
Good etiquette, well dressed, well mannered applicants who are prepared to help and push each other through the grading.
Many past applicants have gone home from a Blackbelt Gradings having made new friends for life as they have gone though the hardest thing of their lives together.     JUST DO IT!!!!

My advice is:
Prepare Mentally - Physically for this great event of your life and go in positive that whatever the panel throw at you, you will just do to the best of your ability.  This is all that is asked of you.   Master Richard "DD" Hopkins - Senior Grading Examiner

TESTIMONIALS

Email: 16/03/2005   Dear Master Deadly
On behalf of The White Dragons Martial Arts Academy I would like to thank you for a very hard but enjoyable Grading this weekend. We all talked about it on the way home and we all agreed that this was the hardest thing we have ever done in our lives. I must say I was a bit tired afterwards but had experienced something, I thought i would never have the chance to do.
The 2 day course was excellent and we have already discussed what we can take back to our club and teach the others.
Well thanks again and look forward to seeing you soon, maybe if your are at the Essex open we will talk then. We can then show you how the Kent boys & girl fight and hopefully continue in being one of the top clubs in the South East. Thanks to you.
Yours - Peter Burton - 1st Assistant Instructor - White Dragons Martial Arts Academy.

Email:  Mar 17, 2005     Hi Master Deadly
another great course over the weekend, thoroughly enjoyed by all us six hardy pups from Scotland. We have learned a lot which we are keen to take back to our classes. The four who sat their 1st Dan Black belts would just like to thank you and the team for punishing them more than they ever have been before and the fact that they can still breath :--). They have all said it was the hardest thing they ever did. I also appreciate the privilege of being invited to sit on the grading panel. It was certainly interesting seeing the grading from the other side.    so thank you from us all and we will see you soon at the Scottish.
