This has to be the most unusual grading that the WUMA has sanctioned so far,
what do you think!
Dear Richard
Shaibah Logistic Base kickboxing Club was formed by Sergeant Jack Johns, who
is currently serving with 4GS Regt, The Royal Logistic Corps, while on
operational tour at Basra in Iraq earlier this year of 2004.
The club trained six days a week, covering a wide range of Martial Art skills
from sparring and weapons to grappling and ground work.
In total there were more than 50 Soldiers who regular trained, which came from
all different units that were currently serving in Basra including
Soldiers from the Czech Republic Army.
Towards the end of the tour a number of students went on to grade, which was
kindly sponsored by yourself and the The World United Martial Arts Federation.
All aspects of their training was tested over a gruelling 4 hours in the Iraqi
heat, which was testing both mentally and physically.
A competition night was also held to entertain the lads which proved to be
very successful.
