CATEGORY RULES
Attention: If it is noticed that a Novice competitor is competing above a Novice
ability then it is the Judges and Promoters discretion to pull them out
and enter them into a more advanced category.
How to work out your section: Put all your Martial Arts,
Boxing & any other fighting art together i.e. if you had
2 months off don't count those 2 months within the 6 months.
If one has joined a new club then you add both clubs training
together to make your total.
Training in all past styles to be
included. We don't care what belt you are!
For instance: If you have trained for 2 months then had 2
months off then the answer to time training is 2 months.
Please be honest when filling in the entry form!!!

MODERN GREEK PANKRATION ATHLINA
-
STRIKE & GRAPPLE
In preparation for future Olympics
Pankration is a martial arts sport
introduced in the
Greek
Olympic games in
648 BC. This martial art was founded as a blend of
boxing and wrestling. Because of this, the term Pankration
comes from the Greek παγκράτιον, literally meaning "all
powers" and that from πάν (pan) "all" + κράτος (kratos)
"strength" or "power". The term is also used to describe the
sport's modern variations. Some also argue it to be the
first all-encompassing fighting system in human history, and
it bears many similarities to modern MMA styles.
