To The
Grimsby Martial Arts Academy in
answer to slander you have put about me on your website
Well I suppose I had better answer your remarks on your website concerning
WUMA as I have had numerous calls and emails from people who have seen it,
shame you didn't have the BOTTLE !!!! to send it me to defend.
You know your
fighters all but wrecked my show, I already gave you my true account of what
and how it happened, you yourself have twisted this obviously cause you have
listened to your fighters. I personally feel your fighters should have
been heavily penalised for what they did! Instead you have chose to insult
me and my federation. I am now going to answer you on every line you have
wrote:-
As you
may or may not know, our friends at WUMA have decided to slate both Mick and
myself and the fighters at the Grimsby Martial Arts Academy, stating that we
are bottlers ?? and that we are banned from all further WUMA events and even
going as far as to state "We will inform all other associations so you will
not fight anywhere again !", er yer right.
I did not slate
any of you instructors for what happened, only the fighters as it was their
own choices to do what they did!
Yes I stated
that they are "Bottlers" that is my term for someone pulling out of a bout
by sneaking out of my event without informing ANYONE! perhaps you could
help me with a better name ?
I did inform some other associations that are friends and they have informed
me that your fighters will not be on their show. This was to
safeguard the promoters from what happened to me!
I think it is now time to put
our side of the story forward, John Lee was asked to fight a so called WUMA
champion on a pro event, pro in my books means both fighters get paid, not
just the WUMA entrant. Any way we had informed them that he would weigh in
heavy but the WUMA guy still took the fight.
John Lee was not asked to fight on a wuma show, in fact no person has ever
been phoned by wuma to compete, we set it all up and the competitors put
their own names down, phone anyone you like to check this as I make it my
policy never to chase people.
John Lee phoned
me and lied about his weight as he was suppose to weigh in heavy
but promised to lose some for us, he weighed in heavier than he said he
originally was. My wife gave him a
bollocking for that and I would have also if I had watched him weigh in, due
to his promises. John Lee was never told he would be paid , nor was Mark
Smith. Pro in Kickboxing does not always mean everyone gets paid and
never has in any association, even back when I was competing in it myself.
A so called
champion, how dare you have the ordacity to even say this, Mark Smith the
title holder has done his time and earned his title competing against all
who comes forward so I find that comment nasty and unfair and of course very
disrespectful, I hope you have to face Mark to explain yourself one day!.
After
driving to WUMA's HQ, a journey of some 2.5 hours, WUMA decided that they
wasnt going to let the fight go ahead as John weighed in heavy, er yer I
think you bottled it.
Get your facts
right, no one drove to wuma hq, the event was at a sports centre in
Worcester, no person told John he wouldn't be fighting and he dam well knew
he was on the bill later as the main bout, "Er Yer I think John bottled it
as he sneaked out of the event without mentioning it to anyone HELLO!
To add
to this after stating already to WUMA that James could not fight due to
illness, WUMA started slating all the fighters representing our club, this
in front of all the other people, instead of taking them to one side. In
their position I would have done exactly the same thing as they did and
leave. Why should they or our club take abuse after driving down from
Grimsby to the other side of Birmingham.
Yes James
stated he was ill "on the night" the term "bottler" comes to mind yet
again! The only person told off was John, no one else, he had that
coming due to his lies of his weight. Nothing was said of your other
fighters.
So if
you think we have bottled it then please accept this open invitation to any
of your students at the WUMA HQ who would like to fight in a real fight
night, were every fighter gets paid
Yes I think your fighters
bottled it, and no I do not accept your invitation of your students versus
mine in your "Real Fight Night" as we want nothing more to do with the
competitors that we consider bottled it and nearly wrecked our show.
Well done if you pay all fighters at your events, I respect that!
and where the clubs coaches
(>2) do not have to pay entry fee's of £25.00. Come to a fight night were we
have a full house and were the spectators only have to pay £15.00 and not
£25.00 and still get a full nights entertainment.
The club coaches never have to
pay, all who have been before know that and those that will come in the
future. The fee was £20 as your fighters tried to sneak followers into our
show on the night. A full nights entertainment can only happen if the
fighters don't run off without letting the organisers know don't you think!
Come to a fight night were we
treat the entrants with respect and thank them for taking part and driving
the distance to be there.
Our MC always thanks everyone for making the night succesful however you
wouldn't know about that as your members ran off before we got the chance to
thank them!
Ha,
bottlers we are not, true champions we are,
No person said you are all
bottlers, only the people that ran off from my show without informing the
officials or their opponents who were waiting to compete against them.
True champions you are, well I know nothing of that as I don't follow your
club, well done if you are!
coaches who are fit and active and take part in the lessons and the sparring
we are and those that try and further the martial arts not just for self
gain or ego.
Well
done for being fit and active and taking part in the classes and the
sparring. Well done for furthering the Martial Arts, I try to do that
also although you wouldn't agree, but then I have a following of 928
Instructors and I think you are 2 yeah!.
Yes I teach Martial Arts and earn a lot of money for self gain, It is called
a JOB! I do well and earn a lot with my JOB! Ego! Yes I am a man
and have an ego just like you, what I would like you to do for an ego test
is: Read my website and then read yours and see who is the one with the
ego!
Who are we, we are the Grimsby Martial Arts
Academy, who are we not, Don King pretenders !!
Well
I'm glad your not Don King pretenders, but i am glad i am as i run more
events than anyone in the world of Martial Arts, if you think not then
explain to me who runs more! I am not ashamed of what I do, in fact i am
a very proud man.
I state our case, Awesome Andy and Maniac Mick (lol.......)
Thankyou for stating your case Awesome &
Maniac (no ego uh! lol!) you both sound hard as hell! shame your
members didn't show their bottle when they needed to!
I Richard
Hopkins say this: You mentioned in an earlier email that you thought I
started same time as you with Clayton early eighties, Clayton will tell you
he knew me many years before that as a Lau-Gar fighter from the seventies,
my training started in 1962 as a boxer and I have the proof as the Evesham
Boxing club is still going.
In fact I was training and teaching before
you were both born "I think" I started teaching in 1976 so you might have
been a young kid.
I can prove this also as even my solicitor has been with me since 1978.
How dare you
insult me in this way when all I did was my job, I always tell it how it is
and had no choice but to make people aware of your fighters after what they
did to me I didnt want them to do it to others.
The next time I
see the writer of your answer "Either Awesome or Maniac "I think we should
step outside and see if you can back up your insults like a man with no
witnesses and no egos as there was no need for this, I will give you the
chance so don't think I won't!
P.S. What you have to realise is that on the night in question there were
clubs at my event from near yours and they saw it all happen, they saw me
calling for your fighters, one even talked to John and he told how nervous
he was for his bout later, this bull what you have put on your website has
made you look a laughing stock as they saw all this happen first hand on the
night, if you want names of these clubs you are welcome to have them.
14 emails I
have had from people who have read your comments against WUMA and I know I
will get more, you don't realise how stupid you are making yourself look.
They are all having a laugh on you Lol! Lol! lol! I might as well have
one also!
I now rest
my case
Richard Hopkins
