RULES OF THE NIGHT |
|
WUMA PRO Competitors/Managers: The WUMA rarely pay out
fees due to lack of sponsorship especially when opponents are being paid
for travelling from overseas, no person will be paid expenses unless
agreed prior to the event and placed in the signed contract. |

NOVICE
|
Under 3 bouts, once a competitor has had 3 bouts
they are no longer a novice. |
|
REGULAR FIGHTER (EXPERIENCED)
|
Between 3 and 10 bouts who are experienced enough to go for Titles
and give a good show.

PRO FIGHTER |
Under 10 bouts, once a competitor has had more than 10 bouts they
become a WUMA PRO COMPETITOR fighter. |

THE
SAFETY OF COMPETITORS IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE

Legal target areas:

Front and side of head, trunk
of body above the belt, behind the ankle for sweep takedowns. |

Illegal target areas:

The back and top of head,
neck, throat, all areas of the back. (No kicking the legs) |

Illegal Techniques:

Spinning back-fist, hitting
after stop, hitting when down, no holding or grabbing, Elbows, Knees,
Head butts. |

IN
THE EVENT OF AN INJURY DUE TO A (NO FAULT) ACCIDENT |
| I.E: Clash of heads, knee’s, shins resulting in a cut or damage: |
| Option
1. Novice Bouts clashing in the first round would be a no fight, 2nd
or 3rd round the points would be added to find the winner. |
|
Pro bouts: A clash before half of the fight or 3 rounds of the
bout will be a no-fight, otherwise the points added for the winner.
|
|
Option 2. The points would be counted up to
the clash and the result would be awarded to the fighter with the
highest points score.
|
|
Option 3. Final
decision of a “No Fight” would be the centre referees.
|
|
Safety Equipment:
Boots, Shins, Mouth-guard. Head-guards. Boxing Gloves: Kids 6 or 8
oz, Ladies 10oz, Men 12oz |

| “I want a good clean bout, don’t turn your back and defend yourselves at
all times, break cleanly when I call break and good luck to both of you”.

Items to check for the Referee to oversee as Chief Official: |
1.
Ring, 2. Seating & Crowd Safety 3. Judges & Officials
4. Matching up. Check competitors clothing and safety equipment
on their entry into the ring.
Competitors must show to be defending themselves at all times. • If you
feel a competitor is in danger of being hurt due to lack of defence you may stop the bout at anytime.
A stunned competitor receives a standing 8 count, on 9 if competitor is
down or still not ready to compete the bout is finished.
A competitor may only receive 2 stunned standing counts, on the third
one you end the bout.
The end of round bell will end a standing count and the competitor may
return to their corner however the judges may still deduct 1 point. |
| In the Schoolchildren bouts an extra vigilance is expected of the
Referee and the bout stopped if a competitor looks to be getting hurt
or in danger of being hurt and not defending themselves. |
| All competitors should be fit for the bout, the referee will stop
the bout if it is felt a competitor is not fit enough to carry on. |

Competitors / Coaches Guidelines |
|
Kicks: above the waist, at least 8 kicks should be thrown and connect to
the body or the guard. If you don't kick enough you
will get a private warning, then a public warning, and then minus
points. |
|
Throws: are allowed from below the hip, for instance back of leg to back
of leg. Sweeps are allowed with the back of ankle to
back of ankle. |
FULL-CONTACT KICKBOXING
Full-Contact Kickboxing started in the USA in 1972,
Britain’s first bout was in 1977 in Birmingham, Editor of this UTR book
Richard Hopkins started his Full-Contact career in 1978, Richard decided
to retire after competing at the 1985 WAKO World Championships held at
Wembley Stadium, England where he lost in the semi-final taking third to
John Cocoran, one of Joe Louis’s students from the USA.
MEDICAL: A
medical should be acquired and a Doctor should give the go ahead before
you participate in the sport of Full-Contact Kickboxing,, please abide
by the following rules
Promoters Guidelines
Most of these guidelines have been structured with safety as the
utmost importance, rules have also been introduced to enforce that we
all promote good worthwhile titles rather than promoters hosting major
titles between Harry and Bill from down the road.
• The Medical Team: A Doctor and 1st Aid qualified staff, should be
in attendance at all times.
• Participants must have their fight-licence fully filled in at all
times.
• Coaches may ask to check the fight licence/record of an opponent
at any time.
• Participants receiving an head injury, knockout etc. may not
compete for eight weeks and even then must be given the go ahead by a
Doctor.
• The medical team plus one official should weigh-in competitor’s
for matching up.
• Access should be made available at all times for the Medical team
to reach the ring and a special 1st Aid post set up ready to give
medical attention.
• Competitors should not weigh any more than 5 kilos apart, under
16yrs = 3 kilos.
• The Tens Ruling System will apply in the scoring of bouts.
• Beginners should not be introduced into full-contact without
adequate training.
• A competitor may not receive more than two stunned 8 counts in one
round.
• No person should judge their own club members, (neutral officials
save face)
• Country and World titles, judges to be appointed by HQ,
(all expenses paid by promoter).
• European/World Title holders must defend their title to foreign
contenders on every second defence.
• Title contenders must be appointed by HQ, foreign contacts will
not be given out.
• Title contenders from other associations must have one non-title
bout first.
• A change in any rule will not apply unless both sides agree.
• Title bouts must first be applied for in writing from the WUMA HQ.
• Title holder/contenders may not promote the show.
• Teams, corner men and trainers must wear their team colours.
• Children entering full-contact must be over ten years old and
under sixteen years.
• Children may not compete against anyone more than one year older
or 3kg heavier.
• Parents of competitors should be fully informed in the art of
full-contact.
• Children must have full permission from parents to compete in
full-contact,
• Children’s bouts should be monitored carefully and stopped early
rather than late (be safe). |
