After a lengthy battle against lung cancer Danny Patient sadly passed away at 11am on Saturday 6th September 2003 at his home in Colwyn Bay, North Wales.
As all of us who followed his story will know, Danny dedicated many of his last months to simply enjoying life and travelled to countries and locations that many of us could only dream of visiting. Florida and Spain being just a couple. Photos and postcards showed us that, although he knew he may not have much time, Danny succeeded in living his life to the full as much as anyone of his 25 years- probably more so. Danny Patient will be sadly missed by family, friends and all of us here at the WUMA HQ. The WUMA raised funds and paid for him and a friend Shoo to go on a Dream Holiday to Florida and Disney World on May 10th 2003. Danny said his best day was spent swimming with dolphins as seen below, and he was deeply thankful to everyone for their generosity in helping to raise the money.
Danny also went on a 'lads week' to Spain in June 2003 paid for by our money raising and reports are that all enjoyed the week. Danny may you rest in peace mate!
